Science, Technology and Innovation in Europe

This publication of Eurostat demonstrates, with the aid of the relevant statistics, the progress made in recent years on research, development and innovation activities. Statistics on high-tech industries and knowledge-based services, patents and human resources in science and technology are also widely used to complete the picture.
It reveals the contributions and expenditures on R&D; the characteristics of the high-skilled people participating; and the innovation activities of enterprises and patenting . The report contains three parts:
