The Big City Blog presents five tools for the assessment of the sustainable building developments. These tools enable us to take into account a number of other factors beyond the economic gain, such as social, environmental and economic needs, in order to arrive at a truly sustainable built environment.
These tools are:
- BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method)
- LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)
- CASBEE (Comprehensive Assessment System for Built Environment Efficiency)
- Envest II
- SPeAR (Sustainable Project Appraisal Routine)
