CM International has conducted many projects for the European Commission including DG Enterprise and DG Region Policy. The firm has gained extensive experience while working for both national and regional government departments and major research organisations. CM International has conducted many projects for the European Commission including DG Enterprise and DG Region Policy. One of CMI's strengths is our continuous involvement as strategic and management consultants with industrial and service companies, bringing our field experience to our public clients.

The UK arm of the CMI Group was established in 1997 in Cardiff and specialises in public policy. All CMI UK staff has had experience at European, national and regional level and have had consultancy or working experience with regional development authorities on a European wide basis. CMI UK is led by Meirion Thomas, previously an Executive Director of the Welsh Development Agency.

Although most of the UK companies work is currently outside Wales, the team have extensive personal knowledge and experience of public life in Wales, and a thorough knowledge of best practice in regional development organisations in Wales, the UK and on a world-wide basis. CM International is currently involved in regional development assignments in Ireland, Sweden, England and Southern Africa, including support for the development of the Regional Economic Strategy for Development Agencies in London and the East of England. The German Governments' Overseas Aid department, GTZ has recently invited the company to act as development agency experts for the feasibility study for a Development Agency for Zambia.
