Urban Apps & Maps Studio

Urban Apps & Maps Studio is a new urban civic start-up incubator where North Philadelphia community members, university faculty and students, and businesses catalyze urban innovation using digital technology.

In collaboration with community members, the Studio designs, develops, and incubates civic start-ups to transform urban challenges into sustainable products and services.

The Studio also aims at reducing “digital creativity gap’ by preparing next generation urban civic entrepreneurs and digital story tellers through immersive education and mentoring program.

The Studio is a trans-disciplinary collaboration across Temple University including Fox School of Business, Geography and Urban Studies, Computer and Information Science, Electronic Engineering and Tyler School of Arts. The Studio also collaborates with local high schools, non-for-profits, and Code for America.
