A Wales Futures Network conference bringing together a range of stakeholders, from climate change specialists to those whose core business is not (yet) directly related to climate change. The event will bring together a genuinely diverse group of people to explore the implications of climate change for important aspects of our society. The Conference will address the following:

  • Generally - information sharing, provision of ‘baseline’ understanding of current climate change science and macro impacts,
  • Specifically - eliciting what else is known/not known; probing implications and possible climate change effects for selected themes and sectors, in particular
    • Population Movement
    • Transport Policy
    • Built Environment (housing, planning etc)
    • Vulnerable Coastal Communities (e.g. Gwent Levels, NorthEast Wales Coastal Belt)

Given the hands-on, practical nature of this Network, event delegate places are strictly limited to 80 persons in only total, so please book early. Delegate fees are £30 a head.

All conference papers and the results of the model scenario building exercises are available for download from the Wales Futures Network Document Bank, under Conferences on the website - http://www.futures.cardiff.ac.uk
